Looking out to the city from bars

How Do We Get Out of This Mess?

Many people are getting the idea that the COVID-19 restrictions have been completely unnecessary and even counterproductive. The reaction to the virus has been worse than the virus itself. So, the question becomes, how do we get out of this mess?

Of course, other people are just fine with the mess that we are in, because they stand to benefit from it. Consider, for example, the following quote from Pope Francis, said on July 25, 2013 at World Youth Day in Brazil:

“I want to tell you something. What is it that I expect as a consequence of World Youth Day? I want a mess. We knew that in Rio there would be great disorder, but I want trouble in the dioceses!”

It is said that you have to be careful what you wish for, because you might just get it. Did Pope Francis get his wish?

Bill Gates recently said: “There are seven billion people on the planet; we are going to need to vaccinate nearly everyone.” One might suppose that he had shares in a company that produces vaccines. He has also called for a tracking system to do contact tracing.

St. John explained that the world is full of the concupiscence of the flesh, the concupiscence of the eyes, and the pride of life (cf. 1 John 2:16). These are great enemies of our soul’s salvation. It seems that when one has more money than one can spend (concupiscence of the eyes), then one wants power over others (pride of life). The thirst for such power seems insatiable.

The COVID-19 crisis has provided an opportunity for the elite of the world to control the masses. And as they say, never let a crisis go to waste.

The average person, of course, just wants to carry on with life. The ‘American Dream’ is to have a good job, raise a family, live in your own home, be able to afford recreation, and then comfortably retire. That dream is quickly becoming a fantasy for most Americans. The vision that the elite seem to have for others is to be individually locked down in a small cell in a big city and have no physical contact with anyone else. Would that not be a hell on earth?

Unfortunately, the ‘American Dream’ has developed aspects which are contrary to the laws of God. Contraception, abortion, divorce, euthanasia, illicit sexual activity, drug usage, and endless entertainment are not making anyone any holier. In the Bible, when the ancient Israelites went bad, it is said that they did whatever they wanted. We are there.

God is not going to reward bad behavior. He certainly punishes it. Why were Adam and Eve driven from Eden? Why did Noah’s Flood happen? Why were Sodom and Gomorrah destroyed? Why is there a hell? Because of bad behavior – poor use of your free will.

Things are to the point that some spiritually-minded persons are wondering if we are now in the End Times or if the Antichrist is already in the world. Various prophecies say that people will become so corrupt that God will just turn them over to their own desires. St. Paul said the same thing: “And as they liked not to have God in their knowledge, God delivered them up to a reprobate sense …” – Romans 1:28

So how do we get out of this mess? By undoing the things that got us into it!

Our Lady of Fatima said that sins of the flesh are what lead the most people to hell. The one ‘lifestyle requirement’ for the Brown Scapular’s Sabbatine Privilege (going to Heaven on the first Saturday after death) is to observe chastity according to one’s state in life. If people avoided that one sin, then many other sins, like abortion and divorce, would be avoided.

Our Lady told the children of Fatima during the first apparition of May 13, 1917: “Say the Rosary every day, to bring peace to the world and an end to the war.” Pope Pius IX said: “Give me an army saying the Rosary and I will conquer the world.” St. Padre Pio considered the Rosary to be his spiritual weapon.

So if a person thought that mass protests would end the current crisis, without a change in bad behavior, he would be mistaken.

Benedict XVI said on May 13, 2010:[1]

“He deceives himself who thinks that the prophetic mission of Fatima is concluded.”

In order to realize the promise of world peace made at Fatima, certain things need to be avoided and other things need to be done.

Before anyone charges out to take on the forces of the New World Socialist Order, he should make sure that he is in the state of grace and has a rosary with him.

Editor’s Note: We encourage you to pray the Rosary every day and specifically pray for the proper Consecration of Russia.

[1] The Pope’s original in Italian read: “Si illuderebbe chi pensasse che la missione profetica di Fatima sia conclusa.” Some websites post inaccurate translations, which is why we prefer this particular wording in English. (See: Crucial Truths to Save Your Soul, pp. 19-20.)
