The Fatima Center Participates in the Rome Life Forum and the March for Life!

On Thursday and Friday, May 17th and 18th, in the Aula Magna [“Great Hall”] of the Angelicum University in Rome, The Fatima Center took part in the “Rome Life Forum” organized by “Voice of the Family”,  followed by the eighth annual March for Life on Saturday, May 19th, organized by Prof. Roberto de Mattei and the Marquise Virginia Coda Nunziante.

As in previous years, the March for Life was attended by all of the major Pro-Life and traditional Catholic associations. This year, however, was different in that the March was immediately preceded by the conference of the Rome Life Forum, the subject of which was “conscience” (a theme suggested by the late Cardinal Caffarra during last year’s Forum).

The promotion of a false concept of conscience, in fact, is undermining the Catholic Faith throughout the world, particularly as regards Catholic sexual ethics and the administration of the Sacraments. For this reason, it is essential to rediscover the true meaning of a Catholic conscience, so that our life and our society may once again be conformed to the natural and divine law.

The Associazione Madonna di Fatima Onlus (The Fatima Center’s apostolate in Rome) has been working for many years to make Our Lady of Fatima’s urgent Message known in its entirety, and to spread devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, particularly (as requested by Heaven) in our daily Rosary, our monthly First Saturday devotions, the amendment of our lives, and in our prayers and sacrifices for the Holy Father and for the conversion of sinners. The Rome Life Forum presented us with a perfect opportunity to further these efforts, distributing our materials and making our presence seen in Rome.

Of particular interest among the speeches of the conference was that of Father Linus Clovis on Our Lady of Revelation of the Three Fountains, during which the New Zealand priest openly affirmed that the Consecration of Russia has not been done yet.

Professor de Mattei also spoke about examples of resistance to erroneous appeals to conscience in the history of the Church, and Monsignor Livio Melina recalled the moral heritage of the late Cardinal Caffarra.

During the conference, the speakers stressed that the truths taught by Pope John Paul II in Veritatis Splendor cannot be overthrown by the novelties and ambiguities of Amoris Laetitia. Neither can there be any innocent circumvention of the Commandments through the “creativity” of one’s conscience, as Francis’ letter to the bishops of Buenos Aires seems to affirm. There can be no exceptions to a negative moral norm (“Thou shalt not…”)!

The annual March for Life in Rome is Italy’s most significant pro-life event, and was also attended this year by Carlo Maria Viganò (Apostolic Nuncio Emeritus of the United States) and Monsignor Luigi Negri (Archbishop Emeritus of Ferrara-Comacchio, Italy).

The Fatima Center is always at the forefront to defend the Social Reign of Our Lord Jesus Christ and the role of the Blessed Virgin Mary as Queen of Heaven and Earth!
