RECAP: Reparation for Our Nation

Feast of Sts. Nazarius, Celsus, Victor I and Innocent I

Introit • Ps. 63, 11

The just shall rejoice in the Lord, and shall hope in Him: and all the upright in heart shall be praised. Ps. 63, 2. Hear, O God, my prayer when I make supplication to Thee: deliver my soul from the fear of the enemy. Glory be …

Collect (Prayer)

May the confession of Thy saints, Nazarius Celsus, Victor, and Innocent, fortify us, O Lord, and may it, for the sake of their merits, obtain help for our frailty. Through our Lord.

Lesson. Wis. 10, 17-20

Lesson from the Book of Wisdom.
[What wisdom did for Adam, Noe, Abraham, Lot, Jacob, Joseph, and the people of Israel.]

God And she rendered to the just the wages of their labours, and conducted them in a wonderful way: and she was to them for a covert by day, and for the light of stars by night: And she brought them through the Red Sea, and carried them over through a great water. But their enemies she drowned in the sea, and from the depth of hell she brought them out. Therefore the just took the spoils of the wicked. And they sung to thy holy name, O Lord, and they praised with one accord thy victorious hand, O Lord, our God.

Gradual • Ps. 36, 24

When the just man shall fall, he shall not be bruised: for the Lord putteth His hand under him. Ps. 36, 26. He showeth mercy and lendeth all the day long: and his seed shall be in blessing.

Lesser Alleluia

Alleluia, alleluia. John 8, 12. He that followeth Me, walketh not in darkness, but shall have the light of life eternal. Alleluia.

Gospel • Matt. 10, 26-32

Continuation of the Holy Gospel According to St. Matthew.

[Christ sends out his twelve apostles, with the power of miracles. The lessons he gives them.]

At that time, Jesus said to His disciples, nothing is covered that shall not be revealed: nor hid, that shall not be known. That which I tell you in the dark, speak ye in the light: and that which you hear in the ear, preach ye upon the housetops. And fear ye not them that kill the body, and are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him that can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and not one of them shall fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Fear not therefore: better are you than many sparrows. Every one therefore that shall confess me before men, I will also confess him before my Father who is in heaven.

Offertory • Ps. 20, 4, 5

O Lord Thou hast set on his head a crown of precious stones: he asked life of Thee, and Thou hast given it to him. Alleluia.
