Our Lady of Fatima Honored in the Philippines

Last Friday, on the Feast of the Annunciation (March 25, 2022), the staff of The Fatima Center’s Philippines office attended the consecration ceremony presided over by the Ordinary of Manila, His Eminence Cardinal Jose F. Advincula, together with the Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Charles Brown, at Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Intramuros, Manila.

Representatives of the nation’s many municipalities – including bishops, priests, government officials, and private citizens – were in attendance. The event included a Rosary Procession and culminated in the same act of consecration as prayed by Francis in St. Peter’s Basilica. It was a consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary “of the human race,” with a “special” mention of Russia and Ukraine. It was intentionally made in association with the consecration performed by the Pope in union with the world’s bishops. However, no mention was made of an intentional day of penance and reparation.

Our staff took advantage of this gathering in Our Lady of Fatima’s honor to distribute literature produced by The Fatima Center’s home office in Canada. They spoke about Our Lady of Fatima’s requests to many devotees in attendance, and were grateful to see it was a pious, solemn and beautiful event.

Parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Manila were also encouraged to organize similar events wherein an act of consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary was prayed at the same time or as close as possible to the time of the consecration in Rome (corresponding to midnight, Philippine time).

[1] May Our Lady of Fatima hasten the day on which the Pope consecrates Russia precisely as She directed, clearly setting Russia apart as the sole object of the Consecration, and issuing a formal order to all the bishops of the Catholic world to unite with him in this solemn act of reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, whether physically present with him or in their own cathedrals at the same hour.[1]

[2] May love for Our Lady spur all Catholics to practice the Communion of Reparation devotion every First Saturday – including this April 2, 2022.

These are the two privileged means by which God will establish worldwide devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us!

[1] The Fatima Center is concerned that the consecration on March 25, 2022 was not the one requested by Our Lady of Fatima for various reasons, enumerated in various articles posted at this website. Nevertheless, Our Lady will clearly reveal if this is – or if this is not – the consecration She has awaited since June 13, 1929. At this particular moment, less than a week since the act, we do not know with absolute certitude (infallibility).

Thus, we encourage all Catholics to exercise patience and prudence. In speaking upon times of chastisement, Our Lord Himself counsels, “In your patience you shall possess your souls” (Lk 21:9). We further encourage all to exercise great charity and not allow this event to cause divisions or animosities, as that is a tell-tale mark of the enemy. Again, when commenting on the times of tribulation, Our Lord Himself advised, “He that shall persevere [in faith, in charity, in sanctifying grace], he shall be saved” (Mt 24:13).
