Consecration of the Vatican Dramatic,
But Hardly Noticed by Media
Many news outlets, not those in the mainstream, reported on the recent shocking behavior of pro-abortion demonstrators in Texas. (See: “Watch: Abortion Supporters Chant ‘Hail Satan!’ While Pro-Life Activists Sing ‘Amazing Grace’ Outside Texas Capitol”.) Along with carrying signs too obscene to mention, those opposing a bill to ban late-term abortions and provide safe surgical procedures (safe for the mothers, not for the murdered babies) chanted “Hail satan!” in an attempt to drown out prolife supporters who sang “Amazing Grace.”
The bill passed, but legislatures elected by the people are often undermined by federal judges appointed by pro-abortion presidents. We’ll watch its progress. What is obvious, however, is that the connection between demonic influence and abortion is being clearly demonstrated. And being pro-abortion is now the shibboleth of political correctness. So who is the spiritual patron of the liberal establishment now firmly in power in every Western nation? The one hailed at the Texas demonstration — satan!
Pope Francis has surprised some observers by his frequent references to the devil (see: “Battle with the devil: Pope Francis frames the fight in Jesuit terms”). If anything can ostracize a public figure from the general body politic, it is the insistence that human affairs are influenced by dark spiritual forces, in particular by an individual angelic figure known as satan. The mainstream media may be unfazed by the extremes of the pro-abortion lobby, but the mention of satan in any serious reference to world affairs they regard as truly obscene.
On July 5, a few days after the “Hail satan!” chant in Texas, a gathering of a much different sort took place in Rome, in the Vatican gardens. There, two popes came together to consecrate the Vatican City State to St. Michael the Archangel. (See: “Pope Benedict Joins Pope Francis for consecration of Vatican City to St. Michael the Archangel”.) Pope Francis and Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI blessed a statue of St. Michael and placed the Vatican under his protection. In his remarks, Pope Francis said:
“Michael struggles to restore divine justice and defends the People of God from his enemies, above all by the enemy par excellence, the devil. And St. Michael wins because in him, there is God who acts. This sculpture reminds us then that evil is overcome, the accuser is unmasked, his head crushed, because salvation was accomplished once and for all in the blood of Christ.”
Strong words! The words of the Church Militant! Words of a kind too seldom heard in recent decades. St. Michael is invoked as the archenemy of satan. He is the patron saint of exorcists, feared and hated by the demons and their master. And Pope Francis chose to consecrate the Vatican City State to St. Michael at this particular time. Not only that, but he was joined in the consecration by Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI.
Two popes acting in unison is an unprecedented event. The significance of the consecration cannot be overstated. That the Vatican is under fierce attack by satan cannot be doubted. And Pope Francis and Pope Emeritus Benedict are preparing for battle with St. Michael as their champion!
Did the world media notice? It was a non-event for the major news outlets. But it will have consequences that will be profound. The days when the mention of satan was muted and the worldwide conflict between good and evil ignored in favor of dialogue and temporizing appear to be coming to a close.
Please, pray for the Holy Father. Our Lady told the seers of Fatima he would face persecution and have much to suffer. This consecration is tantamount to an act of war. If satan wants to continue to corrupt and gain control over members of the curia, he will have to face the vicar of Christ and the archangel in an all-out battle.
Hopeful Signs for the
Consecration of Russia
Those opposed to the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary have long cited the hostility of the Orthodox Church as a reason to second-guess Our Lady. The argument has been that ecumenical relations with the Orthodox, so long and delicately in the making, would be irreparably injured if the Pope and bishops were to consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart. That argument can no longer be made.
The situation in society, both within and without Russia, has grown so dire that it is turning former rivals into allies. Patriarch Kiril acknowledges that the time has come to join forces with the Catholic Church in combatting the moral decline that is proceeding at a frightening pace throughout Russia, Europe and the world. (See: “Christian Resurgence in Russia? Patriarch Kirill Leads Day of Prayer in Moscow” and “Russian Orthodox Church open to dialogue with Catholics – Patriarch Kirill”.)
The friends of Our Lady’s Apostolate in the European Union Parliament are also gathering signatures on a petition to ask the Pope and the bishops to perform the consecration of Russia in the manner Our Lady requested. (See: “Consecration of Russia: EU Petition ...”.)
So we now have a Marian Pope who had his papacy consecrated to Our Lady of Fatima; we have a Pope who is ready to fight the devil with every weapon at his disposal; and we have a Russian patriarch who wants to work with Rome for the restoration of Christendom. Everything seems to be coming together to favor the consecration. If our prayers are not lacking, we may soon witness Our Lady’s long-awaited triumph.
We must work and pray ever more fervently that the Holy Father and the bishops will heed the requests of Our Lady of Fatima. (See: Petition to Our Holy Father — The Consecration of Russia and Petition to Our Holy Father — The Release of the full Third Secret.)
We must also keep informed. Read the recent “Fatima Perspectives” articles listed below.
“Fatima: The Path to Peace!”
Needs Your Support
We are less than two months away from the opening of “Fatima: The Path to Peace!”, our grand conference to be held September 8 to September 13 at the Scotia Convention Center in Niagara Falls, Canada. The conference will be an event of major significance, with more than two dozen speakers drawn from many walks of life. What will be demonstrated is the bankruptcy of all political, economic and military solutions to the crises that threaten the world. Only one hope remains: Obey Our Lady of Fatima.
Never have we faced so many difficulties in putting together a conference. Financial support has been far less than what we had hoped and expected. And some have misunderstood our motives in including some non-Catholic speakers. We have invited them for their expertise in particular areas of government and finance to show that human prudence has failed us and it is time to listen to Our Lady. We are not espousing an ecumenism that diminishes the exclusive role of the Catholic Church as the sole means of salvation (see: “Questions and Answers About ‘Fatima: The Path To Peace!': A Unique Line-up of Speakers”).
When we face such opposition in any of our endeavors, we know who is behind it and we regard his attacks as a sign that we are serving Our Lady in an effective way. But the struggle we are going through now is serious indeed. We need your prayers and we need your alms if Our Lady's Apostolate is to survive. So please, pray for the success of this conference. Come if you can. If you cannot, be sure to watch it online at: www.fatimathepathtopeace.org/. And if you are able, please help us financially. We are in this together as friends of Our Lady and of each other.

Questions and Answers About “Fatima: The Path To Peace!”: A Unique Line-up of Speakers — From Sept. 8-13, the Fatima Center is hosting a conference in Niagara Falls, Canada that is, in its own way, unprecedented in its scope. This grand meeting will bring together many people who might otherwise have never made direct contact. The variety of the speakers and their backgrounds have become a source of concern to some of our supporters. The questions and answers presented here represent those concerns and offer an explanation of why this conference has taken the unique shape it has.
