Golitsyn's Latest Book

Terrifying Fatima Prophecy Confirmed

"The Soviets are not striving for genuine, lasting accommodation with the Western democracies but for the
final world victory of Communism"
...Anatoliy Golitsyn, 1995

by William Fante

When Heaven presents a plan, man is not free to opt for another. When Heaven gives a remedy, man does not have the moral right to choose a "better" one. It is pride and arrogance that attempts to substitute God's plan with one of man's own making. Particularly in the case of Fatima, such a substitution smacks of monstrous ingratitude. It is through Heaven's goodness that Our Blessed Mother came to Fatima not only to warn us of the imminent calamities of the Twentieth Century, but to tell us how we could avoid them. Because Fatima is essentially supernatural, obeying its Message does much more than prevent a world crisis, it saves millions of souls from hellfire.

Our Lady's remedy was a simple one, so simple that the "inhabitants of this world", may laugh it off as "over-simplistic". But disagreeing with Fatima is almost like disagreeing with sunrise. Time has proven that Fatima's predictions regarding the Twentieth Century have been meticulously correct. Therefore, there is no other remedy than that given by Our Lady of Fatima. In order to obtain world peace, a sufficient number of Catholics must pray the daily Rosary, wear the Brown Scapular, offer their daily duty to Heaven and make the Five First Saturdays. Finally, there is the uncompromising demand for the Consecration of Russia specifically and by name to the Immaculate Heart of Mary by the Pope in union with the Catholic bishops of the world on one special day. If this is done, Russia will be converted and many souls will be saved. Heaven has guaranteed it.

In 1982 and 1984, Pope John Paul II consecrated the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, but not much attention was paid to this, since it was obviously not in line with what Heaven requested. Everybody knew it. Decades earlier, in his popular work Our Lady of Fatima, a book with 1,000,000 copies in circulation, William Thomas Walsh wrote that Sister Lucy made it clear to him during their famous interview that "Our Lady did not ask for the consecration of the world to Her Immaculate Heart. What She specifically demanded was the Consecration of Russia."

Suddenly, in 1989, Gorbachev's Glasnost and Perestroika exploded on the world scene. Western governments and their news media’s immediately hailed Gorbachev not as the bloodthirsty Communist bear, but as the photogenic, huggable teddy bear of peace. Many Catholics the world over, including most Fatima apostolates who had been roused suddenly from their "Cold War" slumber, made the hasty and groggy conclusion, "Wow, I guess the 1984 consecration fulfilled Our Lady's request. After all, Russia HAS converted, hasn't it."

However, there are three sobering points that need to be considered in order to safeguard ourselves from arriving at such a fatal conclusion.

1) Whatever changes Russia has undergone have nothing to do with the objective fact that Our Lady asked for the Consecration of Russia. Pope John Paul II enacted the consecration of the World. No matter what, the Consecration has not been fulfilled as Our Lady of Fatima requested.

2) Even if the changes in Russia are substantially genuine, this is still not a conversion to the Catholic Faith, but only an apparent transformation of Russia to a more "democratic" way of government. What is happening in Russia may resemble an "Americanization" (even in terms of religious liberty) but there is no true Catholic conversion.

3) Even this picture of Russia's "Americanization" or democratization is false. This is the view of many political analysts, most important of which is the testimony of ex-KGB agent Anatoliy Golitsyn.

Ex-KGB Agent Knows His Facts

Anatoliy Golitsyn's first book, New Lies for Old, caused a long-running sensation when it was discovered that, unlike most Western analysts, the author had accurately predicted, some years ahead of events, the "Break with the Past" which took place in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union in 1989-91.

Mark Riebling, in his book Wedge: The Secret War Between the FBI and CIA (Alfred A Knopf, New York 1994), carried out a methodical analysis of Golitsyn's predictions in New Lies for Old. Riebling says that "139 out of 148 were fulfilled by the end of 1993 — an accuracy range of nearly 94 percent." And Riebling's assessment includes only the more prominent of Golitsyn's projections; it does not include many of his more subtle analyses and forecasts.

In the last fifteen years alone, his predictions concerning the monumental changes in Soviet leadership and policy have proven remarkably accurate. He stands without peer in forecasting Soviet events as well as understanding their strategy. In his 1984 New Lies for Old book (published five years before Gorbachev's Glasnost) Golitsyn predicted:

the "false liberalization" campaigns of Glasnost and Perestroika

the rise of false "dissidents" such as Andrei Sakharov

the developments between China and the Soviet Union so as to make them appear as "enemies"

the dissolution of the Warsaw Pact

the "reemergence" of Solidarity in Poland

the reunification of "East" and "West" Germany

the demolition of the Berlin Wall

Soviet withdrawal from Afghanistan and repudiation of its earlier invasion.

These and many other developments Golitsyn predicted with stunning precision.

Now, Golitsyn is making predictions again, and the forecast is terrifying, not only because of the future depicted image itself, but primarily because of Golitsyn's remarkable track record of foretelling events before they happen.

In his latest book The Perestroika Deception (published in 1995), Golitsyn explains the devious secret intent behind the Leninist Strategy which the "former" Communists are pursuing under cover of fake "reform" and "progress toward democracy". The immediate strategic objective is convergence with the West - on their terms, not ours.

The ultimate objective is Lenin's replacement of nation states with the collective regional governments as building blocks of the "New World Social Order" - a World Communist Government.

It Started in the '60s

The Perestroika Deception reveals how the largely unseen Soviet collective leadership, borrowing the mind control ideas of Antonio Gramsci, implemented their long prepared shift from Lenin's "dictatorship of the proletariat" to his "state of the whole people". The primary characteristic of this is a theatrical display of "democratism" designed to convince the West that a decisive "Break with the Past" has taken place, in order to encourage Western Governments to abandon caution and to embark on an open-ended program of collaboration with the "former" Soviet Bloc.

In the 1960s, the strategists had established special institutes under the control of the USSR Academy of Sciences. These were instructed to study Western attitudes and to inform Soviet leadership of likely Western reactions to given tactical maneuvers and scenarios.

As the Soviet strategists had anticipated, as a result of these studies, the West was caught off guard and enticed by this break with the past. Golitsyn reveals why Western reaction was so enthusiastic. He explains that a deception, to be successful, must match the known aspirations of the target as closely as possible. Thus the West interpreted the cosmetic changes as a deepening of the process of "Soviet Reform", offering fresh opportunities for policy and trade. In reality, the West faced an "acceleration in the unfolding of Soviet convergence strategy which is intended to procure the subservience of the West to Moscow under an ultimate Communist World Government."

Golitsyn warns, "It must be revealed, that 'perestroika' is the result of thirty years of preparation by the Communist Party, the Soviet Government and the KGB under the guidance of the Party apparatus, that it is not just Soviet domestic renewal but a strategy for 'restructuring' the whole world ... The Soviets are not striving for genuine, lasting accommodation with the Western democracies but for the final world victory of Communism ... They intend to exploit the same illusion to induce the Americans to adopt their own 'restructuring' and convergence of the Soviet and American systems, using to this end the fear of nuclear conflict."

If Golitsyn is correct, glasnost, perestroika, and the enormous "reforms" and upheavals witnessed under Gorbachev and Yeltsin were (and are) controlled deceptions calculated and perpetrated to convince the people of the United States and Western Europe that the "Evil Empire" is now a thing of the past. In reality, the "Soviet threat," according to his analysis, presents a greater peril to the world now than at any other time in its history.

Russia is Now More Dangerous

The Perestroika Deception rips the masks off of the Kremlin's "Masters of Deceit" and lays bare their massive subterfuge. Gorachev, Yeltsin, Shevardnadze, Sakharov, Chebrikov, Walesa, Ligachev, Yakovlev, Pozner, Kozyrev, Havel, Manescu, Kravchuk, Kuchma, Nazabayev, Primakov, Akayev, et al., are competently exposed by their own duplicitous words and actions.

Contrary to the "facts" reported by political "experts" and media creatures, the USSR has not "collapsed" and the Communist Party, the KGB, and the Soviet military have not been overthrown or dissolved. These same structures of Communist power - though somewhat remodeled - continue to rule, not only in Russia, but in all of the supposedly "independent republics" as well. Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and the "former" East Bloc nations are still run today by the same nomenclature, the same Communist bosses who ran those unfortunate countries during the Cold War.

Golitsyn warns that far from ceasing to be an enemy of the United States, Russia is becoming "more formidable, more sophisticated and more dangerous" because the new design for Communist world victory is more realistic than the old. The new design can be described most succinctly as "cooperation-blackmail." This alternately involves the Soviet use of "deniable assets" such as North Korea and Iran or the specter of "rogue elements" or "hard-line Communists" gaining control over nuclear armaments to threaten U.S. security and world peace. So, in other words, implicit in today's collaboration is the Soviet's threat of a "return to the Cold War"- or worse - if the West does not cooperate. Golitsyn describes this ploy as "cooperate with us or face the prospect of nuclear chaos and conflict." This is "Cooperation blackmail."

If the Russian Congress "the Duma" does not conform to the dictates of the "updated" Russian dictator, he can always use tanks to get them to obey like he did in 1993.

Convergence, not Conversion

"Convergence" is the new buzzword of Soviet strategy. Golitsyn states with well-earned authority, that this "Convergence will be accompanied by blood baths and political re-education camps in Western Europe and the United States. The Soviet strategists are counting on an economic depression in the United States and intend to introduce their reformed model of socialism with a human face as an alternative to the American system during the depression."

The convergence strategy is already well on its way toward completion. A principal apostle of convergence, Mr. Gorbachev has been given a prime piece of American real estate for his "foundation" and is accorded the status of royalty. Soviet soldiers are being trained at our most advanced military bases by our elite forces. Soviet KGB officers are being welcomed into our police forces. Leading Soviet disinformation agents are given prime time to heave their slick "human face" propaganda to American television audiences.

Golitsyn cites a crucial admission by one of the Kremlin's top deception specialists, which exposes the importance of this "human face" artifice. Georgiy Arbatov, writing in the June 1988 issue of Kommunist, a journal of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU), stated:

"The 'image of the enemy' that is being eroded has been ... absolutely vital for the foreign and military policy of the United States and its allies. The destruction of this stereotype ... is Gorbachev's weapon ... Neither the arms race, nor the power blocs in the Third World, nor the military blocs, are thinkable without 'the enemy,' and without the 'Soviet threat.' ... Of course, this weapon is not secret, but it does have enormous power."

Commenting on Golitsyn's book, author William Jasper points out that "It is not the reality of the enemy, the reality of the threat, which is being eroded, but the image only; the threat remains, more real than ever."

China a Strategic Enemy of the United States

One of the most fascinating points that Golitsyn brings to light is the truth about the so-called "Sino-Soviet" split, that is, the illusion that China is an enemy of Russia and a friend of the United States. Golitsyn warns that "communist China is not a strategic partner but a concealed strategic enemy of the United States. China will join the Soviets to bring about 'restructuring' in the United States and worldwide.

Through penetration, Chinese Communist intelligence destroyed the CIA's contacts and sources in China during the 1950s, 60s and 70s. They also prevented the Agency from developing reliable sources on strategic intentions of the Chinese leaders.

Golitsyn writes that this state of affairs leaves American policy makers poorly informed on the subject. The best "intelligence" to which the West has access is only the verbal assurance of Chinese communist leaders.

Golitsyn points out, "Because of this intelligence gap, American policy makers have not distinguished between China's tactics and her strategy.... Because of this confusion, American policy makers believe that Communist China is an important strategic partner of the United States and a strategic rival and enemy of the Soviet Union. In this they are wrong. China is a tactical, not a strategic partner of the United States, and a tactical, but not a strategic enemy of Russia."

Golitsyn goes on to say that Communist China was one of the principal architects of the Communists' long-range strategy. The Sino-Soviet "split" was a strategic disinformation operation carried out by both nations to secure the successful preparation of their common strategy of "restructuring". The Soviet and Chinese leaders have continued their secret strategic co-ordination through a division of labor.

China's close relationship with the United States and even Chinese helpfulness to the United States over the Pakistan-Afghanistan situation are tactics intended to secure China's primary strategic objective of becoming a modern superpower, with the help of American technology.

Golitsyn states the grim forecast: "China is destined to become a primary Soviet partner in the future World Government towards which Moscow and Peking are jointly proceeding".

Outline of the Deception

The Perestroika Deception is divided into Six Parts with an Appendix, a Postscript and an Addendum.

Part One is titled, "The Perestroika Deception", where the author discusses the adoption of the long-range policy for Perestroika, Soviet research for the strategy, the KGB's role in preparing for the strategy, as well as the experiments and rehearsals for Perestroika.

There is also treatment of the main objectives of the final phase of Perestroika; namely, the restructuring of Eastern Europe, the Third World and the United States, restructuring the American military and political alliances. It also speaks of the Soviet campaign against anti-Communism in the West.

Part Two, "The Communist Grand Strategies and Western Illusions," is a Memorandum to the CIA dated January 4, 1988, and it is an assessment of Gorbachev's visit to the United States in light of the Grand Soviet Deception Strategy. The author also describes "convergence" through tactical changes and disinformation.

"The American Counter-Strategy against Perestroika" is what makes up Part Three. The author discusses past American tragic mistakes in dealing with the communist world, as well as mistakes of various American leaders, and the mistakes during the Vietnam period.

"The Execution of the Strategy of Perestroika and the Blind Western Response to it" constitutes Part Four of the book.

The author gives 7 keys for understanding Perestroika which are as follows:

1) Lenin's New Economic Policy as a precedent for Perestroika.

2) Preparation for the use of the Communist Bloc's full political and security potential.

3) The creation of controlled "political opposition" in the Communist countries.

4) Lenin's "forging the old and new forms" for developing socialism and Chicherin's idea of false representative institutions through the admission of non-Communists.

5) The deployment of controlled "political opposition" in the Communist countries.

6) Lenin's use of formal political "independence" for the Far Eastern and Georgian Republics.

7) The deployment of the Bloc's political and security potential in the execution of anti-Western strategy.

These seven key points need to be read and understood since strategy of this nature is foreign to the Western mentality, and that is why this strategy is so successful in deceiving and capturing Western minds.

Part Five exposes "Perestroika as the strategy for a second October Socialist Revolution". It also treats of the new pattern of non-violent revolution, not by Communist Party dictatorships, the Soviet Army and violence, but through false reform, influence and political action of the Soviet forces engaged in a controlled "democratization" and the so-called multi-party system in the USSR. Golitsyn also explains the paramount role of Soviet strategic disinformation in the successful execution of Perestroika strategy.

"The Fake 'August Coup' and its Calculated Failure" comprises Part Six of Golitsyn's work. The deliberately engineered "Break with the Past", and the story of what the August Coup was really all about makes for fascinating and enlightening reading.

There is an Appendix which contains extracts from Golitsyn's Memoranda to the CIA between 1973 and 1985. There is a Postscript where the author presents a comprehensive analysis of the Soviet long-range deception strategy. The book closes with an Addendum of further relevant memoranda to the CIA in which many aspects of the present activities of the KGB are spotlighted and analyzed.

Every Paragraph is Packed

This overview, however, does this important book no justice. Much more material is contained in this work than this synopsis presents. In truth, it is difficult to present an accurate summary of this book, since every chapter and every paragraph is bursting with information that a writer may find difficult to condense. The entire book needs to be read in order to receive the full message. Golitsyn has something to say, he is a voice that needs to be heard. Together with a few others, he saw through the deception. This book is the most penetrating exposé of these present-day great Soviet lies.

False Remedies Breed False Results

Golitsyn's Perestroika Deception, more than any other book, reinforces the truth that Russia is nowhere near converting, and the present state of Russia is far more dangerous than the "Cold War" Soviet Union.

The Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary has not been done, and the enemy has only advanced in its sophistication of subversion, not in the grace of conversion. According to Golitsyn, the Perestroika and Glasnost ruse is the greatest deception that the Soviets have ever foisted upon the world.

Perhaps the blindness of our fellow Catholics, Fatima Apostolates, and even highly placed Churchmen comes as a punishment for the pride and arrogance of those who presume that man can propose and execute, with immunity, a different solution from what Heaven requested. Those who ignore the specific demands of Our Lady actually end up working for world peace "in spite of Heaven" and expect to obtain the same results. Since their "solution" is based on such a falsehood, then it is not unthinkable that as punishment, Heaven may allow a mirage of conversion that is based on falsehood, a falsehood that has dire consequences.

It is more urgent than ever to pray and petition the Holy Father to consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. 1917 was seventy-nine years ago. Have we not learned by now that no other solution than Our Lady's will bring about World Peace and an avalanche of God's grace over the world? Fatima is a message of hope and mercy. Yet at the same time it is uncompromising either/or that we must accept on Heaven's terms. No human being has the right to propose or believe an alternative plan. And as Golitsyn points out, the consequences of believing the Perestroika lie will only guarantee the enslavement of the world by Moscow, just as Our Lady of Fatima predicted.
