Everyone Has a Right to Know These Truths
The Fatima Crusader recently asked these questions of Father Gruner to clarify certain issues about the Consecration of Russia.
Q. Can you summarize why it is so important for you to publish about the obligation of the Pope and the bishops to solemnly and publicly consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary?
A. Since this matter is of crucial importance for the wellbeing of every man, woman and child on the face of the earth, it is clear that everyone has the right to know the truth about the request of Our Lady of Fatima to consecrate Russia.
You and everyone expect to be told the truth clearly and unambiguously in this matter. As the Fatima publisher who is heard and seen around the world each week by millions of souls you have a right to expect that I tell you and the whole world the truth about this matter.
If I did not God and the whole world would hold me blameworthy for not clearly telling the world the truth upon which its eternal and temporal wellbeing depended.
When the various nations are annihilated and the whole world falls into the Russian Communist slave labor camp, as it certainly will if the truth about the Consecration of Russia is not known and obeyed soon, then at least I cannot be blamed for hiding the truth from you.
But you and the whole world would account me as guilty of grave injustice if I lied to you about this matter. You would still hold me guilty if I did not lie but only dissimulated — that is if while not actually stating a falsehood, I were to speak or write in such a way as to deliberately mislead you about this important matter.
There are some people, lay people and even priests and some bishops who out of a false sense of loyalty or obedience are misleading the people and the world. These people are helping satan, the KGB, the Masons and other enemies of Our Lady of Fatima from realizing Her triumph and bringing true peace to the world.
Some ignorant people go so far as to say the consecration of Russia has been done and it is converting. This is utter nonsense. Russia is not converting to God, it is trying out an old tactic of trying to deceive the West and the Church leadership.
See various news items throughout this issue which demonstrate they are preparing for war and the Russian crackdown has begun. Rather we should seriously wonder if the U.S.A. has not already begun to surrender since it is unilaterally disarming itself and is paying massive food tribute to the U.S.S.R. starting in 1987. (see "A Hungry Moscow Demands Food Tribute from America" in this issue.)
Q. Why does the Pope delay to obey Our Lady of Fatima's request for the solemn and public consecration of specifically Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary together with all the bishops? Is it because he thinks he has already done it? If not that reason, then why does he delay?
A. On March 25, 1984, after John Paul II had consecrated the world (but not specifically Russia) to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the Pope publicly acknowledged on two separate occasions that he had not fulfilled Our Lady of Fatima's request.
This was reported in L'Osservatore Romano and in Avennire, both papers dated March 27, 1984. So, the Pope knows and we know he knows, that the consecration of Russia has not been done according to Our Lady of Fatima's request.
|Against the Consecration of Russia as Our Lady of Fatima specified was necessary for world peace, disinformation continues to pop up from various quarters. (See articles "More Disinformation Against the Message of Our Lady of Fatima" and "Father Fox and The Wanderer Guilty of Disinformation Against Fatima" for more information. (See "More Disinformation Against the Message of Our Lady of Fatima" and "Father Fox and The Wanderer Guiltyof Disinformation Against Fatima" Even some well-meaning people out of a false sense of loyalty to the Pope are guilty of this. We photographically reproduce here again Pope John Paul II's own words given before 250,000 people on March 25 and reported in his own daily newspaper March 26-27 which clearly indicate that the Pope knows that the Consecration of Russia has not been done. After consecrating the world, several paragraphs before, Pope John Paul II departed from his prepared text to address the highlighted words to Our Lady of Fatima which read: "Enlighten especially the peoples of which You Yourself are awaiting our consecration and confiding." Obviously, he knows he has not yet done the Consecration of Russia that Our Lady of Fatima had asked for.|
We must insist on this because it is a public statement made before 250,000 people. There have been two bishops, one from Maritime Canada and the other from Texas who have said that the Pope privately has claimed to have fulfilled this consecration request. But his public statements contradict that.
Moreover, an internationally known figure (who asked not to be identified at this time) has told us that the Pope, as recently as 1987, explicitly acknowledged in a private audience that the consecration of Russia has not been done as Our Lady of Fatima requested. The Holy Father told our source that he is waiting for certain Cardinals to cooperate before he asks the Catholic bishops to join him in consecrating specifically Russia as Our Lady of Fatima requested.
It is unfortunate that the Pope thinks the cooperation of all the Cardinals is necessary. It is true that the bishops are asked by Our Lady to actively join with the Pope in this solemn public act of Reparation and Consecration. But it is not necessary for all the Cardinals or all the bishops to express a willingness to cooperate.
Even if some Cardinals and/or bishops were to positively oppose this solemn and public act of Consecration by the Pope and bishops it should not delay or deter Pope John Paul II from acting and giving the order.
Since October, 1988, I have written two times to every Catholic bishop, Archbishop and Cardinal listed in the 1987 Pontifical Directory asking them to support Our Lady of Fatima's consecration request.
I have had only one or two bishops show hostility towards this consecration of Russia request. In the same period of time, over 400 bishops have indicated their positive and public support for this request.
It is possible that 355 bishops have not yet received my letters since I used a 1987 directory but still it shows that strong opposition is not there. Even if there were strong opposition the Pope need not concern himself about that because Sister Lucia and Our Lady make it clear that the Pope only has to give the order to the bishops.
In a letter dated May 29, 1930, Sister Lucia writes,
"... the good God promises to end the persecution in Russia if the Holy Fatherdeigns to make and orders that equally, the bishops of the Catholic world make a solemn and public act of reparation and consecration of Russia to the Most Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, and if the Holy Father promises that upon the end of this persecution he will approve and recommend the practice of the reparatory devotion already described (the Five First Saturdays)."
It is clear that the Pope need not worry if the bishops obey, it is sufficient that he "deign to make and orders that equally the bishops of the Catholic world," etc. as indicated in the bold above.
From her letter it is clear the Pope must do it himself. Obviously he must give the order to the bishops, it needs to be a formal order, it cannot be just a suggestion. But he will not be held accountable if some bishops do not obey.
Nor does it seem will their lack of cooperation spoil it for the rest. How is this possible you ask.
The solution of Father Pierre Caillon, a French Priest and a retired Professor of Theology, answers this question. The Pope should give a formal order to the bishops to join with himself in a solemn public act on the same day as the Pope in the act of consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This union of action need only be a moral union, thus as long as the bishops do it on the same day as the Pope, each in their own Cathedral, it would be sufficient.
But Father Caillon points out the formal order to consecrate Russia could be joined with the penalty of excommunication for not obeying. Any bishop who did not join would no longer be a Catholic bishop and thus there would be 100% cooperation of all Catholic bishops.
If I recall correctly Father Alonso, the official Fatima archivist from 1965 to 1981 stated that there need only be most of the bishops joining the Pope. Thus if some due to sickness or imprisonment or threat of dire punishments by the Communist tyrants in certain lands — still the majority of bishops joining in would be sufficient.
It is most likely why Sister Lucia said, "the bishops of the Catholic world" since some of them live in a world dominated by militant atheists ruled by Russia.
In any case, it is clear from Sister Lucia's letter of explanation dated May 29, 1930 that the Pope must "deign to make and orders that equally the bishops of the Catholic world make a solemn and public act of reparation and consecration of Russia..."
It is sufficient that he himself do it and order the bishops. It is not his concern if they do not obey.
In fact we know that very few will refuse to obey. Those who might be tempted to do so will be seen to be disobedient and that will damage the image of those who pretend to be loyal to the Pope but who undermine his authority.
There will be very few in the free world once the order is given who will not obey. The Pope need not worry on this account despite what some of his Vatican advisors seem to be telling him.
Now is the time
As one bishop who recently wrote the Pope said, "Now is the time to act". It is a providential moment because God has allowed temporarily "the Cold War" to thaw so that no one could seriously take offense at this act of consecration.
We know that this thaw is just a temporary tactic for the Russian rulers but it does offer during this time a Heaven-sent opportunity for the Pope to give this order before the thaw turns into another cold war or shooting war.
This turn is bound to come sooner or later as we know from the Fatima Message that Russia will enslave the whole world if the Pope does not consecrate Russia soon.
