More Than 200 Bishops
Publicly Affirm Support for
the Consecration of Russia

As we reported in the last issue of The Fatima Crusader, we wrote to all the bishops of the world two times. With our second letter, we sent each of them a copy of our book World Enslavement or Peace ... It's Up to the Pope.

Besides the more than 200 bishops who signed the affidavit (which we published in The Fatima Crusader, issue 26"A Personal Plea to Every Catholic Bishop") indicating their willingness to join the Pope in consecrating Russia, another 50 letters of support from bishops have been received. We continue to receive more replies each week.

We publish here a sampling of some of the letters received. So far 2 Patriarchs, 11 Cardinals, 8 Archbishops and 227 bishops, as well as 41 auxiliary and retired bishops have responded.

Dear Father Gruner:

I want to thank you for your very interesting book, World Enslavement or Peace ... It's up to the Pope. Ever since I began reading it I can hardly put it down. It reveals so many interesting things about the reasons why the collegial consecration by the Pope and the bishops of Russia to the Immaculate Heart has not yet been made. I pray that soon it will be done.

Rest assured, Father Gruner, that if and when the Pope will ask the bishops to join him in consecrating Russia I will wholeheartedly agree to it. With the many troubles in the world and even in the Philippines where the Communists are getting stronger, this consecration is our only hope for peace.

I pray that many will heed the warning and hope expressed in your book and that the Holy Father will very soon make this consecration.

 Sincerely yours,

Francisco R. Cruces,
Archbishop of Zamboanga, Philippines

Dear Brother in Christ,

I thank you for your letter of October 1988. Unfortunately, I missed the two mentioned booksWorld Enslavement or Peace and Fact Sheet which were to be enclosed with your letter.

Notwithstanding this fact, I am grateful for the information given to me about your activities in favor of the message of Fatima. This message is living among the faithful of our country. The promising words "My Immaculate Heart will be victorious" said by Our Lady of Fatima are giving us the necessary strength to stay firm in the faith.

Pray for me and the Church in my country.

God bless your very important work,

An Archbishop behind the Iron Curtain

Dear Father Gruner,

I salute you from Machakos, Kenya. I wish to thank you most sincerely for yours of September 29, 1988 and the magazine enclosed therein. What you are doing for God through Our Blessed Mother is fantastic and very much appreciated. Keep it up, your reward will be great in Heaven. I am doing the best that I can to make sure that the Fatima Message reaches our people in our entire Diocese and also outside our Diocese as I at times speak to the entire country over the radio. Of course what I am doing is not equivalent to what you are doing but the aim is the same.

I should appreciate very much if you could send me a copy of your book (640 pages) on the subject of the Consecration of Russia etc. The enclosed statement shows you that I support you in your great work.

May the good Lord and His Blessed Mother bless you and your good work in a special way.

Unione Precum.

Yours in Christ,

U.J. Kioko,
Bishop of Machakos, Kenya

I shall be happy to have a copy of your book on the Consecration of Russia. It may be sent by sea mail.

I am very happy and grateful to acknowledge your letter of October '88 and the book World Enslavement or Peace ... It's up to the Pope. I must congratulate you for bringing out such an informative work on the message of Fatima and its relevance in the modern world. It is imperative that Russia be consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Very Reverend and Dear Father Gruner

It gratifies me very profoundly to have received from you a copy of your recently published book World Enslavement or Peace ... It's up to the Pope!

Briefly the book reminds us of the message at Fatima whereby the Holy Father and the bishops of the world with the faithful should pray for the consecration of Russia so that she may be converted and ultimately the Immaculate Heart of Mary will triumph and there will be peace in the world. This is a task to carry out Our Lady's Message before it is too late. Let not politics mar, delay and deter the Lady's command any longer. We should act at once.

A wonderful book to keep and propagate its contents!

Again, thank you very much Father Gruner.

Very Cordially,

Onesimo C. Gordoncillo, D.D.,
Archbishop of Capiz

Nov. 9, 1988

Thank you so very much for your kind letter as well as for the gift of your book.

May Our Lord continue to bless your work which you do so faithfully and lovingly in honor of His dear Mother.

Respectfully,

Peter A. Rosazza,
Vicar General, Archdiocese of Hartford, U.S.A.

Dear Father

May Christ and Mary strongly bless your mission and apostolate. This is a critical time to pray for the conversion of Russia. The spirit moves there. Personally, I pray three Rosaries daily. God love and keep you.

Sincerely yours,

Virgil Patrick Copas,
Archbishop of Kerema, New Guinea

Thank you very much for your recently published book World Enslavement or Peace . . . It's up to the Pope which I have received and thanks to the thousands of faithful friends of Our Lady who through their financial assistance helped a lot in order for us to have a copy.

I have also received the Fact Sheet about the International Fatima Rosary Crusade.

I sincerely thank you for your communications and the efforts you are making towards our involvement in the realization of Our Blessed Mother's Fatima promise of Peace.

Please be assured that our people and Clergy here in the Archdiocese of Tuguegarao are with you in your efforts and undertakings.

November 6, 1988

Pax et Bonum!

I wish to thank you for the book World Enslavement or Peace and add my prayers that all will be done just as Our Lady wishes. I will soon be leaving this missionary Diocese due to age but feel sure that Our Lady's wishes will be followed and honored.

I recently received notice of the Rosary Crusade here in Brazil with the rather glorious result of one million Rosaries for the conversion of Russia! The International Rosary Crusade has as its result 150 million Rosaries prayed for the conversion of Russia.

Thanking you once again for the vast information and book, I am,

Sincerely in Our Lord and Lady,

Bernardo J. Nolker CSSR,
Bishop of Paranagua, Brazil
